Summer Performing Arts Explosion 2010

July 26-July 30, 2010 with a final show on July 31st, 2010 at The Registry Theatre.

The Program

The program is offered to children aged 6-13. Students will take part in a variety of activities each day, which will include acting, dancing, singing, theatre games, improvisation, etc. A typical day begins with our warm up and students will take part in both small and larger group activities throughout the week.

Participation in these activities will help build confidence, improve creativity and increase self-esteem.

Talent time will take place each day at 3:30 PM. All students are encouraged to show off their special talents. Some ideas are: performing a dance, reading a poem, playing an instrument, or performing magic.

The program takes place at Masonic  Hall located at 440 Weber Street North Waterloo http://www.kwmasonichall.com/node/35


Final Demonstration

A final demonstration will be held on Saturday July 31st at the Registry Theatre located at 122 Frederick Street in Kitchener. This is an exciting opportunity for the students to perform in an intimate theatre. ( A small fee will be charged for tickets)


Before and After Care

Before and after care is offered from 8:00 to 9:00 AM and 4:00 to 5:00 PM and are charged as follows:
$3 per day either before or after care
$5 per day for both services


 


Dress / Attire

Students are asked to dress comfortably and with clothes and shoes they can move in, such as running shoes. If your child dances they may also want to bring their jazz shoes. It is recommended that students bring a sweater, as the Masonic Hall is air conditioned.

Lunch

Students are asked to bring their lunch, an extra drink and any snack they would like during the day. Students are encouraged not to share food due to those with food allergies. Please note that food containing peanuts is not permitted in the building.

Tuition

Tuition for the course is $175 If you register by May 1 ($180 after that date). A $50 deposit is required at registration.
