Love Songs offering to Susan from Dave
Susan & Dave met at the EXPO67 World Exhibition in Montreal on the banks of the St. Laurent River. An Ottawa native, Susan was taking French Summer school at McGill University. India-born Dave just arrived from England after completing Masters Degree in Management. Susan is Jewish and Dave is Hindu. Among millions of people they both were at the same place at the same time. It was an environment of beautiful world cultures, arts, music, architectures and people. They fell in love. During that time these poems were written by Dave for Susan.
Dave & Susan were married and had two beautiful sons Joshua and Aaron. Dave had a career with IBM and Susan worked as a teacher in Toronto.
Unfortunately, the year after Susan retired from teaching she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. After the operation, chemotherapy & radiation, Susan spent a year on the palliative wing of Baycrest Hospital.
While in hospital once a week Susan had individual music therapy sessions with Music Therapist, Dr. Amy Clements-Cortes. Susan, Dave & Amy decided to work together to compose the music for the poetry that Dave had written for Susan back in 1967.
As a teacher Susan was very involved in Music, Arts & Crafts and Literature. After the most devastating experience with cancer, Susan needed the healing and revival of her inner self & rhythm . Amy greatly helped Susan in achieving that state of mind.
Amy brought the mental & spiritual calmness and peace through the one-on-one music sessions with Susan.
On December 19,2009, Susan left us for the eternity.
On April 9, 2010, during the Celebration of the life of Susan , Amy sang those songs, which touched everyone's heart. Shortly after, the songs were recorded at Number 9 Technologies.
